WINERY

The VINOS DE RAUDA team is formed by young professionals who daily share their extensive knowledge to the art of oenology. Our main goal is to achieve a unique experience for our customers. It carries out innovative and creative projects in order to bring consumers closer to the exciting world of wine. A selection of the best grape (Roa de Duero, Mambrilla de Castrejo, Valcabado, Villaescusa, etc) has allowed us to elaborate our wine selection. We follow a strict tradition in winemaking without neglecting the latest technological trends. This combination has enabled us to develop unique and unequalled products. Thus, the wines we obtain are aimed at different purposes with which we want to reach wine lovers. Some wines such as:

  • Teaching wines to discover every nuance, every essence, every touch.
  • Wines to share in every moment of the day and night.
  • Wines to accompany in situations of relaxation, fun or business.

And all this reaching the highest standard of quality, result of the rigorous fulfillment of each and every one of the phases of its careful elaboration. Our products have been awarded by numerous competitions such as Zarzillo, Bacchus, Manojo, Concours Mondial Bruxelles Awards among many others, demonstrating once again the quality of our wines.

VINEYARD

The predominant cultivation of our vineyards is the tempranillo, a type of grape typical of the region, which is used for the production of red wines with more body and intensity. The tempranillo is the grape that occupies the 230 hectare cultivation, on a well drained soil of sand and clay, where the limestone, marl and calcareous layers, irrigated by the Duero River are alternated to less than 900m of altitude.

The vines have an average age of 50 years, some of them, without losing their ability to fecundate. They receive a pruning in winter and another in spring, which lead to a better phenolic and alcoholic maturity reaching the optimum quality of the fruit.

The grapes are carefully examined to determine the day of the harvest, which is carried out manually and with extreme care to avoid damaging the fruits used to make the wines.

HISTORY

At the heart of the Ribera del Duero is Roa, town to which belongs our winery and which is also headquarters of the Regulatory Council of the Certificate of Origin. In 1956, a group of winegrowers from the area founded Bodegas y Viñedos Rauda, being one of the first associations of grape and wine growing of the Ribera del Duero.

Since its foundation, the winery collects its grapes over an area of 230 hectares, of which approximately 98% corresponds to the Tinta del País variety (Tempranillo) and 2% to the Albillo variety.

The capacity we have is two million liters. We have a heated aging room that houses American, French and Central European oak barrels of different toast.

With our vineyards of more than 60 years we elaborate our crianzas, reservas and author. In our winery there is a mixture of tradition-technology-expression.
