A town with a lot of history
Roa
Wine is one of the oldest alcoholic beverages in the world. It has a long history of traditions and innovation, which have allowed us to reach the viniculture we know today.
The town of Roa, where our wineries are located, has a history and wine tradition that goes back to the times of the conquest of Iberia by the Roman Empire.
The Romans arrived in the area over 2000 years ago and captivated by the richness of the land irrigated by the Duero River, decided to settle there, establishing their traditions. Because of the peculiar features offered by the place, Romans founded Rauda, current Roa, where they began to cultivate vines. They were the true pioneers in winemaking using incredibly innovative techniques for this time. These techniques have been passed down from generation to generation being accompanied by constant innovation that has been increasing over time.
Today, 21 centuries after the arrival of the Romans, the same innovative spirit reigns among viticultural generations, allowing us to continue doing some of the best wines.
